These include the wealthy and well-dressed, as well as farmers who prefer to consume Sangria from canteens. A raging bull is brought into the ring to start the bullfight. The picadores, horsesmen whose job is to weaken bull’s muscles, taunt him. The matador, a horseman who taunts bulls by stabbing them in the back, then enters to perform his show.

The Banderilleros are next, and they stab the bull with brightly colored sticks. They aim to wreak havoc on the spine, weakening the bulls neck muscles. The matador captures the attention of the bulls with his cape maneuvering and final show of showmanship. As though he were going to kill the bull, this is the only goal of the matador. To ensure that the bull does not suffer, his spinal cord is cut immediately after he has fallen. Two mules then drag the bull out of his ring.
